Out Of My Hands
II Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
Good morning friends! Another day has dawned upon us, bringing the opportunity to teach and show others we are positively going to take on today with only joy exuding from us! Let’s dive in to prayer and meditation with God for a moment. As the title reads, we want to speak on what things can be out of our hands, out of our control; those things we need to let God handle! As humans, we are constantly telling ourselves, our family, our friends, that “we got this”, “I don’t need help”, “I’m in control”! When in actuality, we don’t have this, we aren’t getting to the results we hoped for; we are just biding time, waiting on ourselves to let go and let God! Every day we as believers, forget that God is in control of all things; simple or great; that if we just come to Him in earnest, faith-based belief, trust completely, that He can and will get us through whatever is happening in our lives at any given moment. We tend to have too much pride and self-reliance to know that it isn’t weakness to ask for help; whether from friends, co-workers, church family or even family. Esther is a great example of how entrusting providence to God; the end results become victories. If you think about it, you are letting anxiety and fear take over, which only leads to despair. We have to get back to the knowledge that God is the creator, that He holds every outcome in His hands. Letting go doesn’t mean you aren’t doing anything, it means that you have faith and trust in the one who already knows the results; He just needed you to place it in His hands, relinquishing back control to Him. By placing those concerns, those tasks, into His hands you are opening up a pathway to peace within your heart and soul. In Matthew 11, Jesus taught that He would bring rest and peace to our souls if we would just place our burdens on Him; that no matter how much it is, He is willing to help you get through it. Jeremy Camp has a song that explains how he chose to let God handle his problems because it is totally out of his hands! The Bible teaches time after time about how when God’s people chose to do it on their own, they failed; but when they finally surrendered to obedience, faith and trust, the problems were solved! When we trust in God wholly and believe that He is in control; we will be encouraged, we will receive a peace beyond our understanding. Today, if you have something that needs completing, needs a second look, needs a hand bigger than yours; pause and ask God to take it out of your hands and then trust that He will help in that situation.

Prayer:
Dear God, we come now thanking you for all that you provide, all that is because you are. Thank you, God, for your compassion, strength, and guidance when we fail to remember that you are in control, that we need only to ask and you will be there. Thank you, God, for never failing to bring your presence down to us when we are obedient to you and when we fail you. Help us daily, God, to pray, meditate, study your word; but most of all, to trust in giving you our burdens, calling on you in any need. Amen.
