Not What You Start With
Job 8:7, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”
Salutations! This is another day that we must bring positive thoughts into every moment we are given! As you read the title, everything has a beginning, a starting point. Times in our spiritual growth is the same as we grow, study, reflect, learn, begin serving, begin discipleship; every turn, or movement forward requires a process. When we become believers, we have set in motion faith, trust and hope in God. He is now leading us down the right paths and ensuring we have all the tools to work with, that allow us to mature and expand our belief in Him and His teachings. We start as a fledgling, trying our wings, fluttering, hopping, gaining strength in our limbs and then on the right day; we fly! Our past is now behind us, our mistakes have been forgiven and thought of no more! The old self is to be put aside and the new person is ready, willing and able to work toward that heavenly home. The first step is to pray, seek God daily; second is to trust and obey His plan by studying His word, and third is to place God first in all you do, putting aside any worldly views. As we start to live life with God, we must keep remembering that we are now born-again believers and are a new creation, the old life is no more and should only be looked at as a reminder of how God’s mercies are “new every morning”! Don’t let the naysayers bring up your past, it’s only the devil trying to steal your new joy, peace and comfort; Christ paid the price for those past sins already; they are no more! This leads us back to the title; which is, that what you started with was just an adjustment, a learning experience, a faith building stop before the new life could begin! Just like learning a new job, a new hobby, a new relationship, or mending an old one; there is always a starting point, but there are always growing points. What you started with will be changed for the better if you place your life into God’s plan. It’s not about the start, because you haven’t yet gotten all the pieces; it’s how you go about placing those pieces together to achieve the end results! Steven Furtick said, “The devil will try to downplay the deposit God gave you! It isn’t what you start with, it’s how you flip it! God is a multiplier.” Trust Him, because He already knows the outcome!

Prayer:
Precious Lord, we come now thanking you for letting your Son, Jesus, sacrifice His life on a cross for each of us. Thank you, Lord, for the washing away of our past sins and mistakes and offering us a divine, loving and unconditional way to move forward with you. Help us, Lord, to choose you first every time. Continue to show us how trusting and obeying you can give us a new start for a new life with you. Amen.
