Intervention
Jeremiah 32:17, “Ah Lord GOD! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.”
Greetings friends! Blessings to you and yours on another fine day we have been given! There are so many things we can be thankful for on a daily basis. Simple things, deep meaningful things, just life in itself! Today, we want to talk a little on intervention and how to deal with our own or to help someone else who needs our assistance in a loving Godly way. Most biblical reviews talk of emphasizing a loving, gentle approach because many people suffer with addiction, trapped in sin; but without acknowledging their real need for intervention. Some people are born again believers who have strayed off the path God designed for them and just need spiritual encouragement and help to navigate back to faith, trust and hope. In each type, we as believers need to be aiming for helping them to get restoration, repentance, restored faith and not punishment. There will be those who think the help is punishment, but as we travel through their pain, we must see their side and ours; open to bringing them into the fold with God’s help. Sometimes their pain needs to be experienced in order for them to gain trust, learn obedience, learn that consequences do come with sinful behaviors. Be very vigilant in helping their family, friends, co-workers to understand that they must never enable the behavior; it only adds extra time on the healing. Remember, that Christ suffered the ultimate and most significant intervention by dying and resurrecting, to rescue all humanity! Always use the key principles of intervention: truth, patience, regaining faith, bringing about repentance. As you aid in the rebuilding or newly establishing intervention look to God, study His word, pray earnestly for strength to not only help others but maybe help yourself in avoiding straying away. God will direct you, He will let you know when you need intervention also! The key to all interventions is love, the willingness to give unconditional love just like God does! Ask yourself if this were you, would you not want someone to care enough to stand by you with encouragement and not judgement? If it’s your family member or friend, would you not want to aid in the restoration that keeps them headed to an eternity with God? Talk with God today and see if you need intervention, ask Him if someone you love needs it too! Maybe you are needed as an intervention assistant!

Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for salvation and the knowledge to accept that we need intervention. Thank you, God, for those who are willing to intercede on our behalf to help us get intervention; whether as an addict, or just a believer who strayed. Thank you, God, for the Bible that lays out all that we need to show us a way out of sin, a way to be more like Christ, and a way to become the disciple you intended for us to be. Please God, continue to lead, guide, teach, reprimand through love, give us strength when we need it. Amen.
