How Bright Is Your Life

Proverbs 6:23, “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:”

Hello friends! Let’s say hello to this new day that God allowed each of us to enter into and be thankful for His loving kindness that shines through even the darkest of times! Have you ever considered that you shine? Do you ever think that you are bright in more than just your mind? Are your actions and reactions full of righteousness, hope, and especially good works? Pause for a moment and reflect on whether your life has been purposeful, full of peace and joy in your heart. Has being a child of God not enlightened you in many ways causing you to shine in a way that others could see Jesus in you? When we follow that path of righteousness God provided we are proving that our lives shine bright and exude with Godly manners, maturity, clarity of eternity. We as believers can actually see the good even in the bad of everyday things! Though the world wreaks of darkness in sin, we as believers are a chosen people who can bring light to this dark world and spread the light of God to every corner just by bringing God’s word to everyone! As our own sins and dark lives became new and blessed and improved; the world can be brought to a new glorious light. If you don’t remember the childhood church song, “This little light of mine”, google it and listen! God gives a light, we are not to hide it, we are to protect it from the devil, and then keep it shining until Jesus comes! When we walk in the light of the Lord, we begin living lives that are openly God led, full of honesty, and true obedience to God. As we allow God to bring us blessings, His light begins to shine not only in our lives but outwardly so others can see how being filled with His grace and mercy and unconditional love is the best way to endure this world. Every time we spread kindness, help the needy and down trodden, and share the good news of Christ, the light of God’s word is getting brighter and brighter! The only thing that can overcome darkness is light, and God is the true light of the world. So, today, as you ponder on how bright your light within is; take a moment and think of how bright is your outward light? Have you let God lead you in all you do, in all you talk about, in all the ways you interact with those around you? Take time today to be a little brighter, give of your light a chance to shine for others to see!

Thank you, Father, for the light that takes away the darkness within us, leading us to be more Christ-like and then shines on the outside of us so others will feel the need to receive that light you provide. Help us daily, Father, to never hide our light, but to share it until Jesus comes again. Amen.
