Flowing Water In The Desert
Isaiah 58:11, “And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.”
Salutations dear friends! May today bring about new flowing blessings that will be like dominos on this day and every day from now on! Are we flowing in the right direction with our spiritual growth? Are we leaning on God in the trials as well as the successes? Maybe, we have faltered in our walk with Him and need a refresher on how to gain back that desire to be the disciple He called you to be! Possibly, you have become like someone in a dry desert; a feeling of no knowledge, no respect, no comfort, no sense of direction, unquenchable thirst you can’t quite understand. God used that type of feeling as the same way a desert is dry, dusty, unmarked, no signs of life. When you are stagnant in your calling, or in your decision making, when you forget that moving forward has to be worked toward, you become like a desert. You need God to come in with divine intervention! As we lose sight of Jesus, we lose sight of the true “living water” that is necessary to keep us from becoming dry in our works for God! God uses dry deserts many times to symbolize how our lives need Him to survive, to provide, to cleanse and to nourish our spirits deep within. God proved to the Israelites that He could provide no matter the situation, no matter the location; He brings the miracles, great and small! When we turn to God, He then can help us to gain spiritual rejuvenation, divine intervention, an internal strength, a comfort full of peace. This intervention when we have drifted away will bring us back from a dry desolate place to a place of blooming vegetation, rivers flowing; a feeling that satisfies the deepest thirst for His presence in our hearts. Our need for being transformed will start to grow again; our healing will begin, our work for Him will take hold again! The Holy Spirit never left you; He knew you needed a restart, a boost of energy, a time to get through the desert and find the “living water” again! Jesus described Himself, during His evangelical travels, as that “living water” that would help you to never thirst again; to receive new life and a promise of eternity. He preached that the Holy Spirit is as the streams that flow; that regenerate the ground to regenerate new life and give drink to those who thirst! So, if you find yourself thirsty, in need of refreshing your joy, peace, and comfort; call on God, lift your voice to the one who holds the living water!
