Full of Ditches
Psalms 5:3, “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”
Morning everyone! Let’s say hello to another day we have been given to find positivity within our souls so that our behavior through this day will be pleasing to God! I know you are wondering about the title and how ditches can affect our spiritual growth! Biblical views say that “digging ditches” is a representation of spiritual principles; the active faith and preparation, which means to do the hard work preparing for the miracles that will come later. As believers, we must always be prepared for anything the devil will throw at us. Some career successes were not suddenly handed to you, but were worked toward year after year with you striving to do everything that would lead to that finality. Sometimes, God ask us to do the work, but in our minds, we cannot make logical sense of it at that time. But, as we start taking time to pray, begin worshiping more, and making time to study His word; our spiritual growth improves. When our spiritual growth abounds, we can start moving forward in our careers, our ministry, and our lives; thus, showing our trust in God’s plans. If we have spiritual readiness, true obedience, and active faith, we will start and continue to plan ahead for anything that comes. It’s the internal changes that take time; with those changes comes preparation, leading to being ready to face life head on with God’s help. Steven Furtick has a sermon on digging ditches that you should go listen to! He said, “What you do suddenly was the result of what you did steadily, and that steady hand brings a sudden blessing.” You have to realize that you are digging ditches during your whole life’s journey; working toward an eternity in heaven with God. Every time God granted a blessing for you, you were working toward it by living a Christ-like life. When you do the work, God called you to do, He sees and grants those blessings. So, today, have you been working on your spiritual readiness? Have you obeyed God when He placed a need on your heart? Have you been digging the right kind of ditches that will further God’s purpose? Take a moment to thank God for all the ditches that provided you blessings!

Precious Lord, we come to you now thanking you for the guidance on how to be prepared for everything on our journey in this life. Thank you, Lord, for the digging of ditches that leads to blessings later. Thank you, Lord, for your presence that fills us with strength to endure. Help us Lord, to continue your work by trusting you completely. Amen.
