Balance of Nature

Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”

Salutations everyone! Welcome to this blessed day and may each of us thank God first and foremost for allowing us to be here for His purpose! We may not know yet what this day may hold, but if we pray for it before it starts, we can believe that God will bring peace, joy, understanding to anything that this day is filled with! For instance, what does the balance of nature have in common with our daily walk? Have we ever noticed how nature works to bring balance to our everyday lives? Do we realize how life is blended together with everything around us to keep a sustainable system, eco-system; that nature helps balance this world? In Genesis 2:15, God put man in the garden and required him to take care of it! We, as the people of the world were commissioned at the beginning to “cultivate and guard” the world that God provided us with! This world, when we research it’s working capabilities, we find that every living plant, tree, animal, river, mountain, valley; ALL are created to work together to sustain life, health, true balance! There are seasons for a reason, habitats for creatures for a reason and a true stewardship of humans; all of which highlight God’s balance of creation! God has control over the seasons, the seedtime, the harvest, the weather, days and nights; all that works together for the good of those who love and trust Him; the balance of nature and life! We are given the responsibility to manage and be stewards of the earth’s fruitfulness and not selfish destruction of the beautiful gift God gave us. In Psalm 104, Ecclesiastes 3, Acts 14, are a few scriptures mentioning God’s wisdom of creating diverse and immense ecosystems uniquely planned and executed to make balance in both nature and life! God has given everything we need to survive, to grow, to sustain us through life; asking only that we guard it, nurture it, maintain it! In our Christian lives, we have God’s word, the structure that can teach, guide, instruct us to be better stewards, better leaders, better parents, better friends. We are given the armor to fight against the devil, to survive until Jesus comes back for us! By trusting, believing, growing in our faith and spirituality; we are making the balance of nature easier to maintain. Nature’s balance provides food and habitat for all things; it suggests productivity and reproduction; all of which is more than just survival but is sustainability! Without God’s control of natural forces, nature’s function, the world would be chaotic and unbalanced. By each of us placing trust in His design, using our abilities to guard and protect nature around us; we are helping to balance His creation. Working together whether in nature or in our spiritual lives we are helping to maintain real balance! So, today, ask yourself if you are doing what God called you to do, are you being the steward toward nature, are you truly helping to balance nature?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for all that you have provided and all that makes up this world. Thank you, God, for nature and the abundance of provisions it can provide. Thank you, God, for the gift of salvation so that we could have the gift of eternity with you. Help us, God, to know and understand our part in being the stewards of all creation, obeying your laws to bring balance to all life. Amen.
