Surrender All

Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Hello friends and good morning to you. Such a day to be thankful; to feel gratitude for everything we have and everything around us; whether family, friends, worldly possessions or just everything God created for us. Today I found myself thinking of how the many definitions of surrender differ and how we all use each one of those in our lives. When we first think about it; it is the thoughts of war and power where we “cease” or “submit” to that power. Deep there; but we also allow ourselves to surrender to worldly medias, electronic devices, groups or influencers; not really understanding the power they can have on our minds, or souls. Then we have the one that should have been a part of us; surrendering to God. In the Bible, surrender is yielding one’s will, desires and life to God’s purpose. Though the other ones have an evil purpose wrapped up in them, spiritual surrender is different. We become saved by surrendering of our personal control of trust and obedience. This type of surrender is not a loss but actually a path to true freedom, purpose, spiritual victory. We surrender to use our faith and humility for the purpose of doing God’s will. Once we accept Him, we find a transforming from the sinful self to an instrument of righteousness, filled with His spirit; causing us to produce love, joy and peace. Surrendering to Him is a gradual process of trusting our lives totally to Him. There’s an old hymn that says, “All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give.” It also tells how you can live daily in His presence and accepting His love and care so you can have His blessings fall onto you. With the turmoil in this world, I believe I will keep surrendering to God. His promise of life in heaven holds a much better reason for true surrendering of all to God.
