Stop Overthinking

Psalm 34:4, “I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Good Morning! Just want to tell you that you are loved and that you can do all things if you trust in the one who is in control! Daily we find ourselves bringing the negative when pondering on how to get things done. Everyone is reluctant to believe that they over think about even the smallest decisions. We have all done it. We take a mole hill and then make a mountain out of it. Finding the longest way around something when there was already an easier way to complete the task. By pushing our minds to gather information that was really unnecessary to complete the job, we ruin the simplest task. The majority of the time when we are overthinking, we are really trying to find excuses to why we shouldn’t just do something! While we are doing this, it just looks like we have run a goose chase around the actual task so that we ultimately will not do it. Finding ways to stop the overthinking is a slow process; sometimes needing professional help. Take a moment to see what the primary emotion is behind the thoughts that are producing overthinking. Usually what is the main cause is that you are playing that thought repetitively and need to let go and actually have concrete action. By allowing negativity to use these overthinking moments, you are allowing it to contribute to developing depression and anxiety. First, we need to know that God is working with you. Our mind needs to find new tools to help change our mindset by pushing negative out with a positive thought. Once you submit a positive thought to counter the attack of the negative; you become stronger. God can provide the peace you need in your mind to conquer any negative thoughts so you can replace them with positive. When you become willing to face the problem of repetitive thoughts, place a positive in, you can then stop the overthinking! It is all part of the mind; once you get the thoughts working together positively to become one, everything will get done!
