Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Salutations everyone! May today be the day you find joy in everything that comes in your path and may negativity be stomped by that joy so your day will continue in blessings! Today, let’s talk on spreading our wings and moving forward on the new path toward being all that God wants us to be! Are we finding ways to give Him quiet time early before our day starts? Do we thank Him as soon as we wake so that the positive emotions can cloud out anything that may let negative thoughts slip into the moments? Upon turning over a new leaf when we accept Christ into our lives, our journey becomes new and improved! Even those of us who have been believers for a long time, we are given opportunity to spread our wings. When we see this phrase, we may think of flight, or question how that could be possible for humans. Truth is, God is moving us as believers and new converts, out of our comfort zones into “divine” freedom. We are to begin our spiritual growth and reliance on God by walking away from sin, fear, temptations, or anything of our former selves. Spreading our wings means maturing in faith and making better choices by trusting in God to lead, teach and guide us. Many Biblical scholars believe that the “spreading of wings” symbolizes God’s protective love covering us as we journey through life and His sheltering us through life’s trails. Just like a mother’s love and nurturing during our growth to adulthood; she taught us, fed us, clothed us, kept us from harm, provided a safe home. As in maturing, she then let us spread our wings and jump from the nest into the world to start grownup life! In becoming born-again believers, we gave over our lives to God and He now is our nurturing parent. Truth is, He was always caring for each of us, and He saw fit to give us mothers, fathers, family; until we were ready to be totally His! Now, He is offering each of us the chance to go and spread our wings with Him. He is giving us the chance to have an abundant life that will honor Him, praise Him and eventually give us a home in Glory! As we accept the new life, we are to “go ye therefore teaching them”, sharing His gospel, sharing the love He offers, giving people eternal hope in Christ Jesus promise to be with us always! Spread your wings today and see how your faith and spirit will continue to grow. Trust God to cover you with His wings through all things good and bad; then share that testimony so others will know that true joy is in God! Move out of your comfort zone; share your faith, share your testimony, be kind to a stranger, pay for someone’s meal; just spread your wings! The joy that will continue to grow inside you will start to show outside of you and everyone will notice! Let God’s wings of protection cover you so your wings can spread the good news of great joy!

Prayer:
Precious Lord, we come to you today thanking you for your Son who died upon a cross, giving His life so that each of us would be saved through your grace. Thank you, Lord, for the sacrifice He made for us. Thank you, Lord, for your wings that cover us like a mother eagle, and then releasing us with your protection to soar, spreading our wings in flight through this world. Thank you, Lord, for you guide book that has the necessary tools for us to fight the devil and anything that tries to keep us from sharing you and your love. Lord, please continue to give us protection as we continue to do your will until we are called to heaven with you. Amen.
