Spirit Is With Us
Psalms 139:7, “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?”
Morning everyone! Blessings to you on this wonderful day that God has once again shown mercy on each of us so we can have another day to grow, to share, to just be alive! Today, let’s talk a little on just what the Holy Spirit is and if and where it actually dwells. When we first accept Jesus and give our hearts to Him, when we first come to Him asking for forgiveness from the sins within us; we then let the Holy Spirit take hold and become one with us. The Holy Spirit becomes our faith, it becomes the avenue by which we can now overcome sin, gain understanding of spiritual truths, and then want to work toward being Christ-like in our character, and actions. As we allow God’s spirit to come in, we now have a way to overcome the power of the flesh, sinful desires; thus, helping us to desire righteousness, a life that is filled with God. As the spirit grows within us, we begin the transformation from the old self into the new and better self. We will begin to build trust, hope, understanding; then develop a different love, joy and peace. The spirit is the guide, the protector, the comforter that helps us become more Christ-like; to enable our need to do what God has planned for us. By allowing the spirit to enter, we are sealed or rather guaranteed of our salvation and subject to the inheritance of Christ. When we pray, the spirit will be our intercessor with God. As we grow in our faith, we will experience the empowerment of the spirit to help us in service and ministry. Whether we experience hard times, trials, disappointments; we will survive better because of the spirit within us! Rev. Billy Graham said, “The Holy Spirit sees everything that goes on. He knows what goes on in our hearts. He knows what goes on in our minds. Nothing is hidden from Him.” There isn’t a person who can be a Christian without the Holy Spirit. As you go through today, take a moment and thank the Holy Spirit that is dwelling within you; thank God for allowing the presence of His spirit inside us. Go through the rest of your day asking the Holy Spirit to guide you, teach you and carry you through every obstacle today and be with you always.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, today we are thankful that through salvation we can receive your Holy Spirit to dwell within our hearts and souls. Thank you, Lord, for giving your son so we might be saved and filled with your presence. Lord, we ask that you continue to guide, lead, teach and protect; mostly continue to love us as we are. Please Lord, we ask that your Holy Spirit help us to share your love to others. Amen.
