Parting the Waters
Ezekiel 36: 26-27, “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”
Morning everyone! Welcome to another blessed day given to each of us to celebrate that God allowed us to continue on! Let’s dive in to finding out why we are a piece of parting the waters. If we think on parting waters, our minds usually go to the events in the Bible where the men of God were given the power to “part” waters that were in the path of their journey. The first parting of water in the Bible holds a meaning of fleeing bondage or slavery heading to a promised land, the second came when the Israelites crossed the Jordan into the Promised Land, the fulfillment of God’s word. The third and fourth time came about when Elijah passed his mantle on to Elisha, giving him the abilities to be a prophet for God, then Him parting the waters to show that God was now with Him also. Sometimes, the parting is actually a symbol of something greater, something that is showing God’s ability to move obstacles in our journeys that hinder us from completing the task He assigned us. It is also a representation of Christ death and being delivered from a life of bondage in sin into a new improved life. Reviews of some say that parting waters may also be when we have accepted that new transformed life, we have parted ways with the old sins, the old groups of people, thus, beginning a new spiritual life. By taking on a new life will have God within us and beside us for guidance, protection, deliverance from the obstacles that the devil may throw our way! Parting from our old lives is a continual battle because we are human and the world offers enticing sinful carnal things. Every time we encounter difficulties, God is there and ready to help us through minor or major obstacles. When we are doubtful, we should remember that He is there constantly, even when we fill there is no way, He makes a way! We will always be learning lessons about faith, trust, and obedience as we grow in our spiritual lives. Maybe, today, you have felt you haven’t been all that God expected, that maybe you need another “parting” to get you back on track. Find a way to get some quiet time with God and start with prayer, allow Him to come into your heart and talk of how we need a new cleansing! Let God know that you are ready to be washed in the waters of new life, and want to get back to the path He already planned! Start anew with the parting of the old and the restoration of the new!
