New Discoveries Await

Psalms 111:2, “The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.”

Hello friends! Welcome to another beautiful day in the Lord! Fall is definitely in the air as we see the trees changing colors, crops are dwindling down to the last harvest and everyone is getting ready for the winter months that will be beginning. In some parts of the world, winter has already begun and nature is already giving way to the changes that come! Today, we want to talk on how new things, or new discoveries await us as new believers. Of course, we cannot take discoveries away from seasoned believers! The old wives’ tale is quoted as, “We learn something new every day”! Whether we are gathering knowledge for our job, our hobbies, maybe cooking for family and friends; we are always discovering that there are new and exciting things to add, or take away, from things. If you are creating a schedule for your quiet time with God, you are discovering that placing Him at the forefront will indeed bring positive vibes to not only the beginning of your day, but it will carry on throughout the rest of the day! Growing in our spiritual lives means we will discover new and exciting information daily about how God works, how His grace and mercy endures forever, how He is always present! Finding your internal transformation will take learning to walk in a new identity rather than patching up your old one! Take a look at your life as it is now; are your reading choices, occupation choice, clothing choices, friendship choices legitimate and necessary? Can you say that they could become illegitimate, unnecessary or maybe harmful to your new identity as a child of God? Do you think any of your values, beliefs or your identity has been influenced positively or negatively by your old ways? Make a list of the pros and cons to see how new discoveries of better things and maybe positive changes could bring greater joy and peace to your life. As a new believer, we all will find that a part of the growth is to renounce any and all negative, sinful, worldly influences to gain victory in life. Every day we will discover that when we renounce the devil, our faith is letting the Spirit of God take control and push the devil out! We are now on the journey of restoration, maturity and empowerment into the discovery of all things Christ centered! Each of us will discover that having direct access to God leads to wanting more prayer time, more study time of His word, more worship time, and the desire to share with others what He can do in their lives as well. We will learn to exercise self-discipline, which will be powered by divine grace; this means with God’s help, we can let go of the old, receive the new, and work toward our heavenly home! With each passing day, new discoveries are waiting within God’s word of how each of us can build better lives, better families, learn communication skills, learn how to love each other, how to show empathy; the list goes on and on! As we accept God as our savior, we have opened a door to bigger, better, opportunities of lives filled with grace, mercy, love, peace, blessings beyond measure! The list of positive new discoveries is awaiting, just ask God to open the door!

Prayer:

Dear God, we come now thanking you for all that you have provided to each of us here on this earth. We thank you God, for the Bible that holds the tools we need to become the disciples you have called each of us to be. Thank you, God, for your continued help in giving us daily discoveries of all you have created, all you offer that will help us to want to be excited to gain more knowledge of you. Help us, God, to call on you to lead us away from any and all things negative that could cause us to wander off the path you have already created for each of us. Help us, God, to accept and understand how and why we need to renounce the old self and transform to the new self. Amen.
