I Peter 5:6, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.”
Greetings! Welcome to today; a new and positive day full of new blessed experiences not yet fulfilled but none the less ready to be dealt with! We are ready to take a moment and ask God to bless the day first, grant us peace, joy, and protection from anything the devil tries to throw our way! Now, to begin, let us talk about beginnings and how every one of us has at some point started out with something, whether big hopes, small pockets, big dreams, and loads of wishful thinking! Yes, every one of us have taken our ideas and put them on paper and sized up whether they are worth the paper we wrote them on or whether they were just hopeless, so we wadded that up and start over! And some of us started from very humble beginnings and had to put in way more work that some of our friends and neighbors! We also had those people who just made it with not one ounce of work, like it was handed to them without them ever lifting their fingers too! Sometimes, we kept being told it just isn’t meant for you to do that, or make that, or succeed like them. Truth is, it really isn’t; it is meant for you to do the journey God planned for you. Not everyone is meant to be on Wall Street, be a politician, be Mayor, be an actor, a super star athlete. Sometimes, you are meant to be a barber, a homemaker and mother, a fireman, a nurse, a teacher, a minister. Our roles are decided by where our hearts are and how those hearts are used for God’s purpose. He sees humble beginnings that may lead to something that is richer than anything money can buy. Sometimes, it’s that time you spent with a child who is abused at home, or an employee that has no home to go to, or that shelter that needs you to help hand out meals. In Zachariah 4:6, God explained that success is achieved “not by might, nor by power, but by God’s spirit”. Jesus was born in a manger, a son of a carpenter, ministered to ordinary people, but showed God uses the lowliest to reach the wealthiest through humbleness. This is why Jesus used the mustard seed as an example of how something so tiny could become something so much larger and fruitful. David was a shepherd boy who became a King; God didn’t need the elite to create the success of His teachings! Early stages of progress never show the end results, so always be aware that humble beginnings can produce great results! So, today, keep your head up, because God is not through with your story, and He has great things in store for you to get His work done; keep being humble, it’s just the beginning!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for helping us to be humble. Thank you for showing us when we need to see that we are letting the world lead us instead of you. Thank you, Father, for your Bible that teaches us that every little thing we have is because of you and all that can be taken away at any given moment. Help us, Father to be thankful that staying humble should be a priority in this world today. Amen.
