Greatest Skills

Salutations to all! Hoping this finds you starting your morning with studying, prayer and ready to accept the blessings of this day! For a moment, let’s ponder on our skills, our God given talents, our gifts that are what makes us stand out. Every ability that you have, whether singing, writing, dancing, drawing, designing, farming, constructing, even welding, etc., are talents that not everyone has. Each person on this earth was given the ability to achieve at certain things that God knew you would be better at than someone else! He gave these gifts to necessitate stewardship, to be caretakers of God-given gifts and the duty to use them for greater good! At some point in your career, your talent will attract someone who may need a shoulder to cry on, a mentor to lead them, a voice to speak up for them, or an opportunity to share how God uses you and your talent to show lost souls where they can find peace with God. God used a shepherd boy with herding abilities, sling shot accuracy, to become a king! He used a fugitive with a stutter to lead His people out of Egypt, and a timid farmer to lead a small army to defeat a great one! A small boy with five loaves and two fish to feed thousands, and three fishermen to become disciples and fish for men! No matter the talent God can use you! Just remember that if you don’t use the talent God gave you, you can also lose that talent/skill. When we deny the use of a talent, God can take that away, just like He provided it. Always use the gifts God provides you, whether daily or weekly, just use them to show Him how you understand skills are given for a reason, a reason for you to share the love of God in the way God intended it to be used. Talents are not to be used just for personal gain but for the building up of communities, serving others and can lead to recognition and opportunities that align with the journey God has planned for you. Don’t stray away to dead end streets when your path has already been created for you! Always keep honing your skills, through practice, studying, just like your spiritual growth; the more you learn, the more you know, the more you can share! Serving both God and people with quality and dedicated skills, leads to better lives for everyone. Today, let’s check on what our greatest skills are; whether you are using it for good or whether you are hiding it. Choose to let your greatest skill work for God so this world will be more tolerable until He comes again!

Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for the talents, the skills, those gifts that were given to each of us. Thank you, God, for showing us through your word that even the smallest talent can lead to great things when used for your purposes. Please, God, continue to provide your presence within us so that we will gain strength to show our talents rather than hiding them. Help us to use our gifts to glorify you. Amen.
