Can’t Speak If We Don’t Open Our Mouth

Psalms 105:2, “Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.”

Greetings everyone! I do pray that today finds you filled with the presence of the Lord so that when you step out the door you will know that He will be with you in every moment. When you read the title, I am sure many things cross your mind. First, it means that if we don’t open our mouths to share the message of God, we are failing to do what He called us to do the moment we gave our hearts and lives to Him. Don’t forget, Jesus told us to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations”, not just your area, not just your school, not just your state, not just this country! Our assignment as believers is to tell everyone of God’s love, His forgiveness of sins, His promise of an eternity with Him. Second, maybe our thoughts go to not having the voice of confidence to speak of your testimony. Moses gave excuses, but God still used him! You will not know until you share how you gave your heart to God; maybe how you defeated addition of some sort because God saved you. Speaking of things that kept you from a life with God could be the turning point for someone else to change their own life! Thirdly, maybe you would like to know about the ones God closed the mouths on! Ezekiel wasn’t obeying so God stuck his tongue to the roof of his mouth until He had the words He wanted Ezekiel to speak! When we speak it should always be Godly, biblically sound, and from the heart of truth. Then you know Daniel was thrown in lion’s den; God closed their mouths to protect Daniel and to bring a king to his knees! Then in the New Testament; old Zechariah, doubted the angel’s message, thus causing him to be mute. Until the moment he saw his son and named him what the angel said, was his voice restored! So, maybe, you have held back with your voice from talking about God in fear of what others would say? Have you almost spoke, but in fear, held back? God can give you the strength to voice His name, to have confidence to be honest and open about your faith. He instructs you in His word of how to be a speaker of His message. He also teaches to not be a speaker just to be arrogant, to gain attention to one’s self and not be a voice for Him. This is why we must study His word, pray without ceasing; so that when we speak it is not a performance but a true message of God’s love that is written or spoken directly from the Bible, and the Holy Spirit; from God! So, today, if the opportunity arises, remember, you can’t speak unless you open your mouth! God will provide the words, just ask Him!
