Deuteronomy 31:8, “And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
Salutations! Are you waking with positive thoughts and expectations for a good day? Have you taken a few moments to meet with God to voice gratitude and thankfulness for another day being given to you? Maybe you have let negative emotions, actions, comments; possibly bill concerns push into the corners of your mind. It is hard to not let the world or the devil use negative woes to bring you away from the will of God. When the devil sees an advantage or a crack in your Christian life, he maneuvers until he causes doubt and frustration to take over. Our thoughts need to go back to the prayer room, the quiet time with God. We need to see that when all else fails, God is the only answer and getting back to the basics by giving our burdens, our needs, our rejections, delays, pains, frustrations to the one who can provide the answers! Never let overthinking cloud out the positive thoughts that prayer and studying of the word can provide. Think about it for a moment; did the negative come in because we stopped praying? Did we slack off on studying God’s word? Have we not worshiped the way God intended for us to, so we could be at one with Him? Truth is, should we wait until “all else fails” to finally realize God was always there in our midst, waiting on us to open up and bring our burdens to Him? We cannot overcome obstacles alone; we need God’s grace and mercy! When we admit our weaknesses openly to God, we have shown our faith and trust in Him. I heard a quote today that said, “Satan loves to make strong men weak, but God makes weak men strong!” In a world where we are struggling daily to defeat evil and work toward a heavenly home, we need day-to-day wisdom, comfort, strength, spiritual renewal from the Holy Spirit. Psalms 18:2-3, “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. 3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” I guess, in truth, we as believers should never use the words in the title of this paragraph! If we are true believers, we should be “prayed up”, as my grandmother would say! The devil shouldn’t be able to sneak in if we are praying, studying, worshiping, sharing, meeting with like-minded believers; just living like God taught us to do! Sure, we are not perfect and ALL of us are going to have setbacks; times when we get burdened. BUT, as a believer, we need to pause, call on God, ask Jesus to be the intercessor between us, open up the word allowing God to give us the scriptures that will give the message we need to read. God is already with you, He is just waiting for you to acknowledge that you need Him! The world and yes, people will let fail you, but not GOD! However, next time you let negativity sneak in, remember to get on your knees and begin with the one who can do all things! Never wait until “all else fails”!
