Waking To New Mercies
Matthew 5: 7, “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
Salutations my friends! It’s another day! First off, let us all thank God for the opportunity to wake and to acknowledge all His mercy! Every day is a gift; fully transformed into new experiences. Put aside any negative feelings. Place your thoughts toward the good that can happen today! Obtaining peace, even in trials, will allow us to experience God’s mercy, and teach us how to show mercy. The Bible depicts stories of people who received mercy: Adam & Eve, the Prodigal son, David, Paul, even Zacchaeus. Through all their tumultuous lives and countless others, God gave mercy in every situation. God chooses those who will make an effort to not only receive mercy but who will direct their lives to show mercy to others. A. W. Tozer said, "Mercy is not something God has: but something God is.” Now that was a mouthful of truth! Stop and think of every situation you have had throughout your life, then think of how that moment could have ended badly but… mercy! Even those moments you thought ended bad, but did they? Was it not for your good that your journey’s path was redirected, even in those bad moments? And thinking of all the positive outcomes; do you thank God for His mercy that was shown during those times also? Today, why don’t we ponder on the positive and then take heed to realize you are daily waking to new mercies!
