Train Up A Child
Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Hello today! Oh that today, every word we speak would be the words someone, somewhere would need to hear! Our lives are made up of so many things that we have been taught throughout our life time. Each individual has an ancestry of a family tree that originates thousands of years ago. Your love for Italian foods may be because there were ancestors who originated in Italy. Possibly your taste for spices came from Thailand, Portugal, Mexico! The list in your heritages can be endless. Such things hold true to how you are raised in your home with the teachings of religion, character, respect, etc. All the things you saw adults doing, partaking in, habitually done; play a very significant role in how your own life as an adult will be. We all had rules passed down from generation to generation. As God provided a set of rules to His people thousands of years ago; He didn’t take lightly the reasoning for such rules. He already knew that without a set plan of guidance; the world would ultimately fail. The same in any business, education building, government building, etc., without guidelines there would be no order, only chaos. Following examples of discipline has accentuated growth in every aspect of continued life. We all failed at some time because it was just more intriguing to break the rules. But in hind sight, we always come back to what we were taught. The saying “to train up a child”, not only involves children but also adults. You had to learn to succeed, or to continue on life’s journey. Once you achieved your goals, you then want your children to succeed and in so doing you go back to what you were taught, and shown! We all know that though we fight rules or training, we most definitely don’t forget! The elders knew what they were doing and it worked; so the old saying, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” applies! Truth is, we understand the New Testament teachings must have the Old Testament to complete the knowledge of training! We know what we know because someone took time to follow the rules and then to keep passing them down through generations! God’s word has never changed and it’s profound teaching leads to eternal life in heaven. So today train yourself, then train others by following the rules He provided!
