Sing In The Storms
James5:13, “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Hello friends! I do pray today is finding you waking to new expectations of positive thoughts. Though this may be a repeated phrase of using positive in every post; we must know that when we give way to keeping joy, peace and love in every moment, the negative is held at bay! Even in days of sorrow, days of pain (physical & emotional), days of doubt and uncertainty; thinking on the good things, grasping at happiness, will lift you. This is where singing, praising, worshiping, thanking God, can change all situations for the better. The devil will use anything negative to pull you away from the positive, to pull you away from God and to cause the storms you may be going through as weapons. But, as believers, we really need to find an inner peace, and singing or music has a way of soothing the soul! You may doubt, you may ask just how singing praise could possibly help or change the situation. Any situation or trial or suffering moment can be transformed if you allow the positive to come in! Even in grief, have you not watched or participated in conversations where the good parts of that person gone, brings joy in the memories, the good times, the funny times. By choosing to think of funny, joyful things, pain can be eased, doubts can be taken away, peace rises above. When we shift our focus to God and His power, His faithfulness, His presence; singing His praise becomes a medicine like no other. Daniel praised God in the lion’s den, David praised God while hiding from his enemies, Paul and Silas sang praises in the prison. Our circumstances should not define us to becoming negative, but to thanking God for His ever-present love and protection. He didn’t say we wouldn’t struggle, we wouldn’t fear, we wouldn’t hurt, we wouldn’t have sorrow; but He did say that He would always be there. When we sing His praise, we are allowing God to bring His peace, His presence, His unfailing love into our souls. As we lift the name of Jesus in praise we are reinforcing joy to overcome evil; declaring that only positive goodness will defeat the negative. Let’s take a moment and realize that storms will come, but praise will lift you from them!
