I Still Need Help
Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Good morning! May you be starting this day with joy, peace and determination! May today be the day that you finally realize that you are not alone, though you may be independent; focus on the fact that you still can use help in many ways! All of us, during our time here on earth will at some point need help. It may not be monetary, or physical labor; it may just be that you need a shoulder to cry on, a friend who just listens, more than ever, you may just need a prayer warrior! Many times, I found solace in just knowing that there are people out there who will lift up your name to God alongside you; bringing your need to God! God hears you and He gladly receives all petitions! Some of us have a problem with asking because we do not want to be a burden to anyone. We get the idea that asking for help makes you look needy, irresponsible, show weakness. But, it is the will of God for all of us to love, help, honor others no matter the need! The fact is, when you allow someone that honor of helping, you have helped them in a special way by showing them you need them, cherish them, respect them. Then, as you accept, you can then do that thing they call “pay it forward”! You then get to show someone else that you are humbled and fortunate to be allowed the honor of helping them. As a single parent after divorce, I became solely independent; forcing myself to never need anyone again; only depending on God and myself! My mistake was, I wasn’t really letting God do His job; I was trying to do mine and His! Our mindset should be to place everything on God’s shoulders, allow Him to provide the means by which we can get things done. We need to replace the fear of defeat on Him; to find the strength to say, “here God, take the wheel, I’m not steering the boat well enough”! We forget that we are human with limitations, with weaknesses; and He is the only one who can make all things new. As you struggle today, stop for a moment and ask God if He can forgive you for not trusting enough, not being faithful enough; then call that friend, that co-worker, that sibling, that parent or grandparent. Trust me, God will send the right “unseen angel”, He already knows your need, He’s just waiting on your call!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come to you now asking forgiveness again for not giving all our burdens to you. We ask Father, that you reach back down and touch our hearts helping us to find peace in the knowledge that it isn’t a crime to ask for help. Thank you, Father, for those who are unseen angels, people who will pray with us and for us. Father, continue to provide your words of wisdom, words that remind us who is in control. Amen.
