Christmas Up There
James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Good morning! Blessings today to you and all you are experiencing. Today let us ponder on gifts, whether real or imagined, wished upon or received. Throughout the year many receive gifts for the celebration of many things; birth, achievements, graduations, marriage, pregnancy, anniversaries. But do we set our sights on gifts of greater value like love, acceptance, trust, faith, hope, salvation even resurrection? Are we thankful for all we have or all we can receive through the birth, life and death of Christ, whose gift is greater than any other? Do we ponder on those who are not here, but who taught us more about all these Godly things? Why have we just dwelt on what they gave here and not what they are being given in heaven? Can we not fathom the celebrations that happen up there? Worship is a gift and few here on earth get that luxury unless they live in a free country; a country that allows them to worship God! Our gifts here are but a mere pebble upon the ground to the joy of what gifts await us in heaven! The real Christmas down here happened once; but it gave us the ultimate gift! We as God’s beloved people must not stop the celebration of a savior who came to save! The worldly gifts down here are not the ones that will give us access to Christmas in heaven! We must find a way to understand that the gift was given, then taken, then resurrected, so that we could receive the ultimate gift! Today focus on Christmas up there! Cherish the fact that family members, friends, others; are celebrating a NEW life, a wonderful SAVIOR and an ALMIGHTY GOD! Let us celebrate by sharing what gifts down here will lead to Christmas up there!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come now accepting the ultimate gift of salvation! Thank you Lord for sending the greatest gift! Thank you Father for giving more than we deserve. Teach us now and every day to worship you here as we will in heaven. Help us to celebrate by sharing that gift with everyone we meet, wherever they are, so that one day we all can celebrate with you in heaven! Amen.
