Adjust To Where You’ve Been
Philippians 3:13, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
Good morning! Hoping this is finding everyone waking to a new day and trusting that with God all things are possible! Taking just a moment, let’s be sure that we gave God the glory as we began our day and if you forgot because of hectic morning routines, pause now and do it! I have found that if we praise Him, think on Him, breathe His name at any moment during the day, peace will flow through you! If you noticed the title, you will see that we are again pondering on adjusting to situations, to life choices, on past and present circumstances. When we adjust, we are allowing God to provide us with a better outlook on life and the journey He has laid out for us. Being a new believer, your path has just begun, and the way to begin is to trust Him, then start studying His word, and do not be afraid to look to mentoring from long time believers for encouragement. There are many mentors who have been where you are, and there are mentors who have been in different situations than you. They are still great mentors in that they have learned already how to pray, to study and to meditate with God, so take heed to their words because God places unknown angels around us for a reason! As seasoned believers and as new believers; we all will be working toward a goal of eternity with God. We will all face challenges, some unwanted or difficult, because that is the devil testing our faith and trust in God! The way to overcome is to understand that God never changes, He has forgiven the past, He is only looking at your future. When we begin this journey of trust, faith, and love in Jesus, we want to be transformed into a new person, with a new life. The adjustment will be the leaving the old behind, this is the most difficult. Your thoughts need to be in fulfilling God’s purpose despite the trials that may come during this journey. Always seek God’s wisdom when you feel overwhelmed or full of doubt. Find strength in His presence, call on Him to have mercy and grace on you as you grow. The Bible will be your map, the book that holds the knowledge you will need to advance, whether new or old believers. If you find yourself looking back, make sure it’s to encourage yourself to keep moving forward; don’t dwell on what has been, but focus on the path that leads to God and an eternity in heaven. This new adjustment will be forever life changing; embrace this new reality and see it’s well worth it!
